Nippon SPCA Schedule for the Second Northern Japan Animal Rescue Mission

Mission: Rescue of animals, temporary fostering of animals, delivery of emergency provisions for pets, report on the current situation of animals in the area and in shelters

March 25, 2011 (Friday)

10 AM – Pick-up rental cars

Location: Totsuka Ward, Yokohama

11 AM – Pack cars

Location: Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama

12  noon – Meet up with full team; head out on Route 6 and the Joban Expressway to Ibaraki Prefecture Location: Ueno Station, Tokyo

6 PM – Arrive at Shinopo no Takama Shelter; hold group meeting

Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture

March 26, 2011 (Saturday)

9 AM – Team A departs for locations in Ibaraki Prefecture; Team B provides pet care and other assistance at Shinopo no Takama Shelter

12 noon – Team A delivers supplies for pets to northern Ibaraki

7 PM – Team A & B meet back at Shinopo no Takama Shelter

March 26, 2011 (Sunday) 

9 AM – Return to Tokyo with 10 cats and dogs from overwhelmed shelters

2 PM – Arrive at Senju Station in Tokyo and drop off some team members; prepare dogs for health check at Umejima Animal Hospital

5:20 PM – Arrive at Umejima Animal Hospital in Takenotsuka Adachi Ward, Tokyo for the health check

9 PM – First drop off for dogs at Kazuna Orthopedic Clinic (Supporters of Animal Welfare in Japan)

10 PM – Drop off team members at Ueno Station, Tokyo

11 PM – Return with remaining dogs to the Nippon SPCA Headquarters in Matsumidai Heights, 4-944-13 Matsumi-cho, Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama
