Nippon SPCA continues its animal rescue and relief in the disaster areas

A top priority is to get displaced animals out of animal control centers that may start to kill animals (the usual method being gassing).

So far the Nippon SPCA has recieved US$14,821 -- A great thank you to everyone has made this possible!   The Nippon SPCA is continuing to accept donations to support our next visit to Japan's disaster areas starting this Friday March 25. We will be takin...g a team up to visit the government "protection" centers (Aigo) where animals are being euthanized between 1 to 5 days after being dropped off. There we will ask the staff to hand the animals over to the Nippon SPCA for care and to be made available for adoption; and for the center's directors to uphold the suspension of the law that puts these animals to death.   On an earlier trip immediately after the quake, we saved 4 dogs whose shelter was without water, electricity or food. See the photos section for more information about that trip.
