Cosmo belongs to the Tawara Colony and holds downa territory with Richie and Hank.

Kitties of the Day (12-13 October 2017). The other two tuxedos of Gokoku Shrine. There are THREE tuxies at the Gokoku Shrine colony. I have already posted pics of one of them--Amigo. But he has two cousins. At first they were very shy, but now they let me touch them and they seem pretty tame. In the photo on the left, you can see them both, with papa Roberto just behind them. The other three photos are of the same cat, so I have a facial shot of just one of them.

Kitty of the Day (11 October 2017) - Mackie

Kitty of the Day (11 October 2017--yes, I'm behind and I'm running out of cats). Mackie. Mackie is the THIRD of the kittens that I rescued last year who are still with me (there were 6 kittens, 3 were adopted, and remaining are Nana, Soxie, and Mackie). Mackie is a lively all-black fellow. Gets along well with any cat he is with.

Kitty of the Day (10 October 2017). Trying to get ahead. This is Buddy. Brother to Frankie and Richie. RIP Frankie (kidneys). Richie is with Tawara colony, including Hank and Cosmos. Buddy went the other direction when young--he came onto campus and joined Sheba's gang. He loves spending time and playing with the group next-door too (Tiger Baby). If I had 100 cats like Buddy, taking care of them wouldn't be difficult. He is a perfect cat.

Going to try and get new photos of Buddy today and post them soon.

Kitties of the Days (7-8 October 2017) are Billie Jean (left) and Ursula (right). These lady cats are members of the Omiya colony but they have become rather marginalized in the pecking order for territory. Want to bring them inside soon. They are completely tame.

Getting a bit behind here. The kitty of the day (5 October 2017) is KIRK. One of the campus kitties. I just put food down and he was taking a water break before eating.

Kitty of the Day (4 October 2017) is BABE. He was rescued as a kitten on campus around the same time as Pongo. He is now with Gracie in the US with my brother. His best buddy was Elvis, but Elvis is gone now. Babe is the ultimate cat lover's cat. What a feline. Hoping he can become good friends with Ricky (another Fukui rescue now with my brother).

Kitties of the Day (2-3 October) are Sheba (left) and Gus (right). They are brother and sister and bonded very closely with Buddy, an all-black kitty that they used to share a territory with on campus.

Kitty of the Day (30 September 2017) is Sumi, the Queen of the Cats' House. She lives with Shaun, Jun, Mackie, Soxie, and Nana. The people who got her found homes for her kittens and were going to put her back outside, but I said, no, although she is feral, I think she will make a great companion for Shaun. And she has. Shaun really missed Ragi when she passed, and now he and Sumi are very close.

Kitty of the Day (27 September 2017) - Soxie. He is the shyest of the kittens I rescued last year. A very sweet nature but very shy. He is now about a year old.

Kitty of the Day (22 September 2017) is TIGER BABY. Part of the campus cats on the northern side, which included the tennis courts as part of their territory. He is inside now, with his family, Pancho and Bootsie-mama. Tiger Baby is very tame with me, but acts very feral with anyone he doesn't know. Also, once he is taken away from his family, to whom he is closely bonded, he also panics and acts feral. He loves to play and to be held when he is with me and with anyone who sees him regularly. When he was a kitten, he nearly died from a really awful cold infection (colds are not mild in cats). Now he is very healthy and is extremely athletic. This cat loves to jump high and climb.

Kitty of the Day (20 September 2017) is ROBERTO. He is another of the really sweet kitties at the Gokoku Shrine colony.

Kitty of the Day (19 September 2017) is SHAUN. Shaun is one of the 'original campus kitties'. He is very friendly to most other cats, dogs and humans. He is always greeting people at the front of the house.

Hank and Richie of Tawara Colony (Kitties of the Weekend, 16-17 September 2017)

Kitty of the Day is, well, Kitties of the Day--a two-cat special for the weekend of 16-17 September 2017--are Hank (left) and Richie (right, an all-black cat who is brothers with Buddy, now with me, and Frankie, RIP). I stop by at the Tawara colony to see them just about every day. They live behind the small post office there, and around the local public bath. There is also Cosmos, a friendly white and gray kitty, but he wasn't around when I took this photo. TNR and adoption have got the colony there down to 4 cats, but these overlap with the group at the SE corner of campus, in the neighborhood there, where there are about 5 cats still.

Kitty of the day is SEBASTIEN (14 September 2017). He was in desperate condition when I rescued him. He was an outdoor FIV pos. cat who did not have long to live. He came inside and has been with me for 6 years. It's not easy being an FIV pos. cat. But I try to limit his stress, make sure he gets a very good diet. I think the love he gives to and gets from me and Pongo keeps him going. He is the easiest cat to photo. He's always photo-bombing Pongo when I try to photograph Pongo.
