Lady
Babe is a cat I rescued just outside my office. She had been living in
the pump house of a broken-down fountain on campus. She was very close
to starving to death when I found her.
Since she had a collar on (but no i.d. info.), I thought she might be a lost kitty. So I took out ads in the newspapers, handed out handbills, and put up posters advertising a lost cat.
After 3 months and no inquiries, I put Lady Babe up for adoption. A family who had recently lost their 14 year old cat wanted Lady Babe. So she joined them right around New Year's.
I really fell in love with Lady Babe during the time she spent in my office (with little Bella, a female orange tabby kitten I had found ONE DAY AFTER LADY BABE). So it was a relief to get a message from the family telling me how well she had adjusted to her new life. Here is the photo.
